Creator Guides

From creators to creators. An insight into our work.

During our time as coconutsandcoordinates we’ve understood that there is a new generation of people that are influencing the way we communicate, how we eat and what we do when we travel: Content Creators.

Traveling as part time creators and now doing it full time has made us conscious about the challenges, needs and passions of this new social group - particularly when it comes to being travel nomads/content creators. So we decided to address them. Our goal is to make it easier for people wanting to pursue this lifestyle.

The Nomad Lifestyle

Tips, advice, tools and all the inspiration you need to become a digital nomad.

The term digital nomad is becoming more common by the day and during COVID most of us have in some way experienced a tiny bit of the ‘work from anywhere’ lifestyle. The only difference is that a digital nomad is exactly that, a nomad. We’ve redefined what an office is, it can be as long as we have a phone, a laptop and good internet connection.

We’ve been there, we’ve done it and know how scary it can be. Just the thought of leaving everything behind can be terrifying… but you know what is even more terrifying? To never follow your dreams and let your fears decide your future.

If you are currently stuck in a life you aren’t happy with and what you are seeking is freedom, keep reading, you might be ready to take that step.

We are not going to lie, it’s not easy and you will work much more than you do in your current job. The good part? You OWN your time, you are free and you can call anywhere your office. All you need is your laptop, your phone and good WiFi!

We know how mentally difficult it can be so we’ve made a list of all the possible questions you can have or that might come along the way.

Should you leave your 9 to 5 to become a digital nomad?

Should we, content creators and influencers, be giving our content for free? In the influencer world, a lot of things start off with exchange collaborations. What does this mean?  Influencers or content creators receive hotel stays, clothes or any sort of products or services in exchange for content creation or promotion on in form of a blog post, Instagram post, Instagram stories, Reels, TikTok or YouTube videos.

The Influencer World

How many times have you heard others or even yourself say:
‘I’ll travel when I have enough money”
‘When I retire, I will do what I love’
‘If only I would have the time’,
‘If only I could…..’
Well there are 2 things you need to hear if this has ever been you. The bad news? All this is BS! The good news? All this is BS! All you truly need is purpose and a mindset change.

Get your dreamlife before the millions

The travel industry, like many others, has had a pretty rough year. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the world to literally shut down and turned the world upside down. Nonessential travel, tours, and vacations have been cancelled or drastically postponed throughout 2020.  Everything in our lives has changed and travel is not the exception. We can no longer travel like we used to, nonetheless it is still possible. Travel is not only good for pushing our reset button, for our mental health but also helps us  support countries whose economy mostly relies on tourism. That being said, there are some countries that you can travel to and making sure you travel safely is key.

Learn about our mistakes to avoid making yours

Are you a travel junkie like us? Well even if you’re not we’ve got you covered. Our ultimate is to travel the world and we want to share everything that we learn along the way with you. Planning a trip requires time and effort - we’ve certainly spent hours and hours online looking for information to design our travels and make the most out of them, so we’d like to compile all that information to make it easier for you. Just because we spent all those hours navigating online doesn’t mean that you have to.

We promise you we’ll try our best to give you all the information that you need and, in case we can’t, we’ll link you to a site that can.

Looking for an ideal spot for a beach day in our favorite of the three Nusas? We spent an entire month in this beautiful little island, learning all its secrets and, of course, visiting all it’s beaches.

Surprisingly, beaches in Nusa Lembongan are quite diverse: Mangroves on the east, rocky and with strong currents on the south, white sand beaches on the west and even a lagoon region between Lembongan and Ceningan.

This guide includes all our favorite beaches in Nusa Lembongan.

Nusa Lembongan | Beaches

We spent three years obsessing about the three beautiful islands of the coast of Bali: Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida, so when we finally had the chance we made the most out of it. After staying one month in Nusa Lembongan we decided to make a one week stop in the trendiest of the three Nusas - Nusa Penida.

This guide includes all the information you will need for your next visit: what to do, where to stay and where to eat. We covered all of these and more.

Nusa Penida

We approached Kelingking beach with a lot of excitement…and ignorance. The truth is that we’ve been seeing magazine worthy pictures of this incredible place on our Instagram for years and, in fact, this beach has been on our radar even before it became one of the most famous beaches on the world - but we never really thought that most of the people don’t get to see the beach.

Kelingking beach is the most challenging hike we’ve ever done - at least to a beach. So don’t make the same mistake we did, go at the right time, prepared and with plenty of water and you should be ok…oh, and better leave those 12kg of camera gear at the top!

Kelingking Beach

We spent three years obsessing about the three beautiful islands of the coast of Bali: Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida, so when we finally had the chance we made the most out of it. We moved to Nusa Lembongan for one month in February 2021 and made the most out of our time there to get you all the details you need for your next visit. This guide includes all the information you will need for your next visit: from where to go, to where to get groceries - whether you’re planning to stay there for just a weekend or an entire year.

Nusa Lembongan

You don’t have to visit Nusa Penida to understand the potential it has as a beach destination and why we consider it to have the best beaches in Bali. Beaches in plural because there are a couple that could be consider in a world’s best beaches list. Surely Diamond Beach in Nusa Penida is in the top of our list, but there are several other’s to be consider as world class beaches - Suwehan beach is one of them.

If you made it here it is most likely that you already know a little bit about Suwehan beach. Maybe you saw it on a video on YouTube (hopefully ours) or on a post on social media. Then, like us back then, you’re trying to figure out whether it is worth the trip and, more importantly, how difficult it is to get there. Don’t worry, we’ve got your back.

THE MARA, a legendary game reserve adjoining to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, is a must for safari destinations worldwide. It is also home to The Great Wildebeest Migration - one of the most incredible natural events you’ll ever see, if you are lucky enough to be there to witness it. And for the “unlucky ones” like us, the Masai Mara still offers spectacular sightings of wildlife and astonishing landscapes all year round.

The Masai Mara is a must destination both for safari lovers and safari first timers. Home to many of the species that you dream to see in the wild, the national reserve will wow you with sightings of wildlife, beautiful landscapes and unforgettable sunsets.
